Seaton Hiking Trail
The Seaton Trail is a whopping 14km out-and-back natural route that stretches alongside the crystalline West Duffins Creek and surrounds itself with small pockets of farmland in Pickering Ontario. It's a much-needed refuge from hectic city life. Human presence in the area is scarce, and, save for occasional encounters with fellow hikers, you'll only be greeted with wildlife through and through.
The trail is known for being moderately challenging to cross, and with three hours of walking time (if you're planning to traverse its entire length), it's recommended that you set off in the morning or, at most, early afternoon. You should also wear comfortable shoes, especially if you want to enjoy breathtaking vistas from a more elevated vantage point (the way up is steep!) Naturally, if you're hiking with children, make sure you choose routes they can withstand according to their age group.
While it's a long trip, it never gets unpleasant or tiresome, and there's always a photo opportunity around the corner. That said, keep your bug spray at arm's reach!
